Successful Launch of the Centre for Transnational Mennonite Studies

May 10, 2016

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the official launch of the Centre for Transnational Mennonite Studies last week!  It was a great evening celebrating this milestone in the Plett Foundation’s history.

Hans Werner, the Plett Foundation’s Executive Director, was joined by Royden Loewen, the Chair in Mennonite Studies at the University of Winnipeg, to officially launch the Centre, and Neil Besner, the University’s Vice-President Academic welcomed the Centre to the University’s campus. We enjoyed the inaugural lecture by Aileen Friesen, the Plett Foundation’s 2016 Postdoctoral Fellow, who spoke about Mennonite-indigenous relations in the Russian Empire and the audience joined in a dynamic Q & A session following her address.
