Advisory Service for MAID funded by Foundation Grant

January 5, 2016

The MennoniteHistorical Society of Canada (MHSC) is a recent recipient of a Plett Foundation grant.  The funds from the Foundation will be used to provide advisory services to Mennonite community archives who are partners in the Mennonite Archival Image Database (MAID), an online database of photos from Mennonite archives across Canada.  The MAID advisor will spend a number of days with volunteers in partner archives, providing training and support on using the MAID database (http://archives.mhsc.ca/).  Lucille Marr, President of MHSC, comments: “We believe this training option will produce the best results possible and thereby improve the local archives and increase access to their rich collections.  Thank you to the Plett Foundation for its support, without which this project would not be realized.”
