Mennonite Heritage Archives Officially Opens Under New Partnership

June 2, 2017
Mennonite Heritage Archives opening, June 1, 2017

Some 50 people gathered on June 1 to celebrate the opening of the Mennonite Heritage Archives (formerly Mennonite Heritage Centre Archives). The MHA now operates under a new three-way partnership that will own and manage the archives.

The partners are the Centre for Transnational Mennonite Studies at the University of Winnipeg, of which the Plett Foundation is a part, Canadian Mennonite University, and Mennonite Church Canada. This partnership will put the Archives on a strong financial footing and build its transnational holdings.

Representing the new partnership at the MHA opening were (left to right): Cheryl Pauls (CMU), Willard Metzger (MC Canada), Royden Loewen (CTMS) and Gordon Zerbe (CMU).

A more elaborate grand opening is planned for October 5. Watch our website for more details to come!
